  1. PIERRE GIRARDIN 2018 CORTON CHARLEMAGNE GRAND CRU

    Item #: i_353685
    Bottle Size: 750ml
    Wine Advocate: 92-94
WINE ADVOCATE 92-94 POINTS - -"This year, Girardin opted to bottle his domaine holdings as the 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru La Croix, a cuvée that derives from the same source as his 2017 Corton-Charlemagne; whereas his 2018 Corton-Charlemagne hails from négociant purchases in Ladoix and Pernand. Unwinding in the glass with notes of citrus oil, confit lemons, warm spices, beeswax and pastry cream, it's full-bodied, multidimensional and muscular, with chalky structuring extract, fine concentration and a mineral finish."

    Item #: i_379182
    Bottle Size: 750ML
    Wine Spectator: 91
    Vinous Media: 93
VINOUS MEDIA 93 POINTS - "Another winner in this range, the NV Another winner in this range, the NV Reserve Oubliée is terrific. This release is based on 2012, with 50% reserve wines from the previous edition, aged on cork. Rich, ample and creamy, the Reserve Oubliée is wonderfully expressive and inviting. Hints of dried pear, smoke, sage and mint add myriad shades of nuance. For the Reserve Oubliée, the wines spend a second year of aging on the lees prior to being bottled. Disgorged November 2017. Dosage is 4 grams per liter."

  5. PONSOT 2015 CORTON CHARLEMAGNE ***LOCATED AT WAREHOUSE***

    Item #: i_351801
    Bottle Size: 750ml
    Wine Advocate: 90-92
    Vinous Media: 92 Points
    Decanter: 92
DECANTER 92 POINTS - "Very ripe apricot nose, which has a toasty edge despite the absence of new oak. Rich, generous and creamy on the rounded palate, but there is ample underling acidity to give tension and precision. Sleek, lightly phenolic, and very long.

WINE ADVOCATE 90 - 92 POINTS - "The 2015 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru has a powerful but well-defined bouquet with scents of wild honey, praline and citrus fruit, gaining intensity in the glass but never losing its delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp citrus fruit, nectarine and grapefruit notes, the acidity nicely judged, though the finish just needs to develop a little more persistence and depth. Otherwise, this is a fine Corton-Charlemagne that should age well over the next decade."

Pierre-Yves Colin is the eldest son of the famed Marc Colin. After working as the winemaker at his father’s domaine from 1994 to 2005, he established his own domaine from family vineyards he inherited from his family. Since that time, he has rapidly become a star in the Cote de Beaune and is now considered one of Burgundy’s top producers. His choice to use larger demi-muid barrels and eschew the use of battonnage, makes each one of his bottlings a clear expression of its terroir and a study in mineral-driven Chardonnay. As scary as it may seem, with each new vintage his wines seem to get better and better. This is not only one of the top domaines in Chassagne, this is one of the great winemakers and domaines in the world.

    Item #: i_322677
    Bottle Size: 750ML
    Wine Spectator: 92
ALLEN MEADOWS, BURGHOUND 94 POINTS - "This has what all of the best 2012s have, which is to say a brilliant texture. To be clear, it's not about density per se though that is part of it. Rather it's the way that the density interacts with the acidity such that the flavors deliver both richness and delineation, provided of course that the proper serving temperature is respected because if not the same beguiling texture just becomes heavy. The nose offers up the telltale Ramonet hint of mint along with lovely floral and spice nuances to the mostly white orchard fruit and lemon skin scents that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is fine concentration to the vibrant, cool and ultra-pure medium-bodied flavors that possess that beguiling texture, all wrapped in a palate coating and strikingly long finish. The other seriously impressive aspect to this wine is that even though it will certainly reward at least 8 to 10 years of cellaring (and very likely more), it can be enjoyed now thanks to all of the acid-buffering dry extract. This is not a completely perfect wine as there is a hint of warmth that becomes more apparent if the serving temperature rises, but if that's the worst that can be said, that is already quite a compliment because few wines cannot be faulted in some way if one is really being picky. In sum, this is quite simply terrific."

  16. ROCHE DE BELLENE 2017 MEURSAULT LES CHARMES

    Item #: i_352724
    Bottle Size: 750ml
This Meursault Charmes is sourced from the middle section of this revered vineyard, from a 45-year-old parcel that borders Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes. 30% new oak, no lees stirring. Emphasis on bright citrusy fruit, high toned floral notes (acacia), a distinct nutty quality and loads of limestone-driven minerality. This flirts with Grand Cru quality. With decanting the layers of mirabelle plum, baked apple, acacia, hyacinth, lemon curd, hazelnut and wet stone really express themselves. Dense serious white burgundy. Many of the best wines from the Côte de Beaune are a visceral, meditative experience that you could savor without food. However, richer fish dishes, pork, chicken and anything in a cream sauce or with fungi are highly recommended.

  17. SALON 2007 BRUT CUVEE 'S' BLANC DE BLANC LE MESNIL

    Item #: i_375863
    Bottle Size: 750ml
    Wine Advocate: 94+
WINE ADVOCATE 96 POINTS-"There are pure chalk and lemon juice notes intertwined with perfectly ripe, sunny white and yellow-fleshed fruit expressions (even hints of pineapples) on the bright, fresh, subtle but most of all highly elegant and nobly expressive nose. Altogether, that makes the 2007 Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil Brut an outstanding Salon that already shows its class without any reservation but also without any compromises to its refined and terroir-driven style. Compared to the powerful and structured 2006 that, from my memories, showed wet chalk flavors but almost no fruit in its youth, the weightless and delicate 2007 is a coolish, elegant and smoky gentleman dressed in a white tie and silk hat—Max Raabe singing Berlin chansons from the 1920s! The performance on the palate is pure yet concentrated, fresh and linear, very elegant and perfectly balanced, but most of all, it is extremely fine and stimulating! There is a chalky-dusty texture in the aftertaste that makes this a great Salon with sublime finesse and elegance. Lovely lemon flavors are displayed on the pure, fresh and concentrated finish. The radiant 2007 Salon is one of the greatest Champagnes I have had from this vintage. 57,000 bottles produced. Tasted from lot L93 SQ 28218 U in November 2018."

  18. TAITTINGER 08 BLANC DE BLANCS COMTES DE CHAMPAGNE

    Item #: i_376108
    Bottle Size: 750ML
    Wine Advocate: 06
    Wine Spectator: 91
VINOUS 98 POINTS-"Taittinger’s 2008 Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne is simply breathtaking. I have tasted it many times over the years in various trial disgorgements and it has never been anything less than compelling. The final, finished wine captures all of that potential. Bright, focused and wonderfully deep, Comtes is a fabulous example of a vintage that expresses so much energy but with real fruit intensity, the signatures that distinguish it from other vintages (1996 comes to mind) that were similarly taut, but more austere in the early going. Although the 2008 impresses right out of the gate, it only really starts to open up with several hours of air. The 2008 Comtes represents the purest essence of the Côtes des Blancs in a great, historic vintage. Readers who can find the 2008 should not hesitate, as it is a truly brilliant epic Champagne that no one who loves the very best in Champagne will want to be without. (AG) 98+."(8/2020)

WINE ADVOCATE 98 POINTS-"Taittinger's 2008 Brut Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne is being released this year, and it will be worth a special effort to track down. I wrote in August 2019 that this is the finest Comtes de Champagne since the brilliant 2002, and this tasting confirmed that. Offering up a deep and complex bouquet of citrus oil, crisp orchard fruit, warm brioche, crushed chalk, blanched almonds and smoke, it's full-bodied and incisive, with excellent concentration, racy acids and a long, searingly chalky finish. While this is already immensely impressive out of the gates, this 2008 is clearly built for the long haul, and three decades' longevity won't be a challenge."(9/2020)

    Item #: i_334112
    Bottle Size: 750ML
    Wine Advocate: 94
    Wine Spectator: 94
WINE ADVOCATE 94 POINTS - "Wafting from the glass with aromas of buttered orchard fruit, ripe lemons and blanched almonds, the 2016 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a broad-shouldered, powerful profile, chewy structuring dry extract and racy acids, concluding with a long and penetrating finish. This is a very persuasive wine from Girardin."

WINE SPECTATOR 94 POINTS - "A powerful yet reserved white, exhibiting spice-tinged peach, apple and lemon flavors, with a stony undertow. The vibrant structure keeps this focused, while the finish is long, evoking peach, mineral and spice notes. Mouthwatering."

  21. WILLIAM FEVRE 2018 CHABLIS BOUGROS COTE BOUQUEROTS GRAND CRU BOUGROS

    Item #: i_322223
    Bottle Size: 750ML
    Wine Advocate: 93-95
    Vinous Media: 94-95
    Decanter: 95
DECANTER 96 POINTS - "One of three producers in Chablis to bottle wine under this label (or a slight variation of its spelling), this comes from what is generally considered the best bit of Bougros, on a slope close to the River Serein. Picked early in 2018, this is fresher and more refined than it can be in warmer vintages, showing beeswax and citrus perfume, refined oak and lingering freshness."

WINE ADVOCATE 93 POINTS - "Tasted from bottle, the 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte Bouguerots is already quite open and expressive, bursting with aromas of fresh peaches, oatmeal and dried white flowers, with little trace of the reduction it showed from barrel. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny but incisive, displaying good concentration and an impressive spine of tangy acidity, which lends superb cut and drive to the chalky finish."
