ANTONIO GALLONI - VINOUS - 93 POINTS This represents as usual a small lot from especially concentrated fruit and destined for auction. Apple and quince jellies mingle with glazed pineapple on the nose and the viscous, glossy palate. Some of the marzipan that helped convey A.P. #14’s confectionary cast is present here as well, but tangy pineapple and a welcome influx of fresh grapefruit guarantee animation and invigorating brightness on a formidably persistent finish. Like the A.P. #14, this will likely grow in stature with bottle age. David Schildknecht.
WINE SPECTATOR - 93 POINTS Crunchy in texture, with great intensity and a mineral-driven profile, accented by aromas and flavors of yellow apple and peach cobbler. Shows detailed structure, with electric acidity imparting energy and keeping the various elements intact. Unravels more and more with each sip. Best from 2022 through 2037. 135 cases imported.
