WINE ADVOCATE - 98 POINTS Picked over several days and sorted two times (in the vineyard and again on a sorting table in the winery), the 2015 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Beerenauslese opens super clear, fresh and precise on the nose. There are lemon and smoky/stony flavors and an unreal precision. On the palate, this is a super pure, lush, precise and refreshing, highly digestible Beerenauslese of great finesse and elegance. The finish is very clear, pure, piquant and salty, revealing a beautiful grip and mineral finesse and tension. You can easily make your BA more rich and fat, but it is almost impossible to make it more fresh, piquant and digestible—but Schaefer did it with their Domprobst BA in 2015. MOSEL FINE WINES - 97 POINTS This offers a superb ripe nose driven by plenty of honeyed scents of exotic fruits such as apricot, yellow peach, pear and pineapple but also by fresher fruits of lime and grapefruit. The wine is honeyed, creamy and almost syrupy on the palate. A superbly fresh touch of fresh acidity lifts up the flavors and provides a stunning frame to a gorgeously complex and multi-layered feel of honey, nut paste, apple jelly and marzipan in the after-taste. The beautiful nose offers up the vintage’s purity and precision in spades, wafting from the glass in a creamy constellation of pear, white cherries, a beautiful touch of minerality, honeycomb, orange blossoms and a really lovely, almost perfumed topnote of iris blossoms as well. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very, very refined in profile, with great depth and balance, marvelous acidity and a very long, pure and dancing finish. This is a bottomless BA that is also stunningly light on its feet and vibrant. Great juice. 2020-2080. 97.
