"Vieille Julienne's Jean-Paul Daumen is unquestionably one of the most talented winemakers in all of France" - Jeb Dunnuck

"Jean-Paul Daumen continues to make some of the purest wines in the appellation" - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator

"The Châteauneuf-du-Papes across the board are monumental wines" - Jeb Dunnuck

We are thrilled to be able to offer the extraordinary wines from Domaine de la Vieille Julienne at very compelling prices. At this point, La Vieille Julienne needs little introduction and has become an icon in the most famous of appellation from the Southern Rhone, Chateauneuf du Pape. We have long been fans of these wines where 5th generation owner and winemaker Jean-Paul Daumen has propelled this property into the elite of both Chateauneuf and the Rhone Valley. The reviews for the featured wines reflect the quality of the estate, the winemaking and the excellent 2019 vintage.

Rhone loving critic Jeb Dunnuck adores these wines, in fact rating them higher than the fantastic 2018's from La Vielle Julienne.

We brought in a good supply of the Cotes du Rhone Lieu Dit Clavin which performs like a "baby Chateauneuf." This 91 Pointer is delicious and offers compelling drinkability at a great price. Dunnuck called it, "a seamless Côtes du Rhône that does everything right."

Farming Biodynamically, Daumen refuses to use herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers and chemical products. He uses indigenous yeasts only and his wines certainly reflect the purity of his approach. All his wines are certified biodynamic by Demeter.

The wines from Vieille Julienne are delicious and would make excellent additions to your cellar. We are thrilled to offer all of these wines at the lowest prices in the country.

JEB DUNNUCK 91 POINTS - "Moving to the 2019s from bottle, the Côtes Du Rhône Lieu-Dit Clavin always shows the style of this estate as well as the vintage, and the 2019 is well worth seeking out. Black cherries, gravelly earth, spicy herbs, and violet notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, floral, seamless Côtes du Rhône that does everything right."
