Clearer in colour than the Grand Mayne, this has a fresh, well-defined, feminine bouquet and aromas of blackberry, bilberry and a little mint. It has a lightness, a deftness of touch that is endearing. The palate is medium-bodied, very good weight, a slightly lactic/chocolate note on the entry, moderate acidity, nice grip but nice vice-like like the 1989 or 1990. Blackberry, a touch of smoke and raspberry leaf, this Troplong Mondot is evolving impressive finesse."
