Sweet red cherry, crushed flowers, spice and mint add lovely shades of aromatic nuance. The Sonoma Valley Cabernet is a hidden gem in Paul Hobbs' range."

ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 90 POINTS - "Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County leaps from the glass with notes of Morello cherries, black raspberries, redcurrant jelly and fresh blackberries plus hints of bay leaves, fallen leaves and damp soil. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers crunchy red and black fruits with a lively backbone and approachable, grainy texture, finishing with a compelling herbal lift. The vintage was sourced 50% from Sonoma's Moon Mountain AVA and 50% from a Paul Hobbs estate vineyard in Alexander Valley. 8,836 cases were made."

As stewards of this beautiful terroir, DAOU's goal is to make unique fine wines that honestly and accurately reflect the potential of the estate and to craft wines that combine Old World tradition with New World techniques.

The 2021 DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon displays a rich and exuberant nose with an abundance of ripe cherry, black plum, and Zante currants, accompanied by undertones of blackberry jam and crushed wet gravel. Highlights of coffee and pencil shavings are rounded out with notes of dried desert sage and baking spices. This cabernet is robust and full bodied on the palate with flavors of black cherry, cassis, and wild boysenberry. Subtle secondary layers of cranberry and blueberry are framed with hints of vanilla, black olive and fine leather. Beautifully balanced and precisely structured around a core of ripe tannins, the velvety texture slowly fades with lingering flavors of blackberry, plum and cocoa.

JEB DUNNUCK 90-92 POINTS - "Not yet bottled, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon sports a deep purple hue to go with some classic Cabernet notes of cassis and blueberry fruits as well as chocolate, spicy oak, and lead pencil aromas and flavors. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, and textured."
