WINE ENTHUSIAST 90 POINTS Tender, friendly hints of juicy pear beckon. The palate follows with more oomph and lots of lemon freshness. There is a lovely textural element to the crisp midpalate and edges of peppery herbs everywhere that haunt you long after the lip-smacking finish.

******
This bright, crisp wine made in a joint venture between Sommelier Aldo Sohm of Le Bernardin in New York and Gerhard Kracher, of winemaking roots in Austria, was created by them during a wine and dining experience over lunch in New York City back in 2008. Both Gerhard and Aldo cherish indigenous grape varieties and have a soft spot in their hearts for Grüner Veltliner making this variety the clear choice. They decided upon the wine-growing region of Weinviertel as being underestimated and possessing old vineyards, as well as displaying a diverse soil profile and a unique micro-climate. This was where the two found the perfect vineyard and began to define their very own style of Gruner Veltliner “This wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation, as do all the wines. It is the only wine in the line-up that fully ferments in stainless steel where it spends one year on its fine lees. It is a crisp, fresh, aperitif-style Gruner that is salty and easy to drink.”
