Located in St Helena, just west of Highway 29, the Sinegal estate is on some of the most coveted land in the valley. Their neighbors include Dana Estates, and the famed Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and Beckstoffer Las Piedras vineyards (as a reference, these three properties each have 100-point wines tied to them). Sinegal sits atop one of the most prized types of soils desired for grapevines, so their grapes develop highly-complex flavors, dazzling aromatics, and wonderful texture. But yields are small, so the resulting wines are brimming with concentration!
At the winemaking helm is Ryan Knoth. Ryan has had the pleasure of working under the expert tutelage of David Abreu, Michel Rolland, Jim Barbour, and Philippe Melka. Any up-and-coming winemaker would jump at the chance to work with any one of these superstars, but Ryan got to work with them all!
Sinegal has been a staple at our store for a few years now, and they have even poured at out Tour de Napa event. It's the immense attention to detail that is helping them go from a noteworthy upstart, to a force to be reckoned with. Sinegal's newly-released Napa Valley Cabernet has earned an immense 98-point score from Antonio Galloni, a score that is often seen for Cabernets 2x-4x this price! Antonio states this is "a stunning wine", and critic Jeb Dunnuck tasted this out of barrel wrote this wine is "certainly going to over-deliver".
Try this gem of a wine while you can, because once word gets out, this won't be around much longer!
ANTONIO GALLONI 98 POINTS - "My tasting at Sinegal was one of the highlights of the month I spent in Napa Valley. Winemaker Ryan Knoth simply crushed the vintage. In particular, the wines have all the opulence they showed a few years ago, when David Sinegal bought the property, but with an extra kick of energy that makes them so compelling."
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is every bit as magnificent as it was last year. A heady, statuesque wine, the 2019 captures all the pedigree of the vintage. Inky red cherry fruit, mocha, licorice and spice race across the palate. The 2019 is bright, deep and powerful, with exceptional balance and tons of class. It's a stunning wine, to say the least. The move towards a slightly less pushed style, with less overt oak signatures, has paid off big time. This is a fabulous showing."
JEB DUNNUCK 94-96 POINTS - "I loved the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, and it's certainly going to over-deliver. Terrific notes of cassis, white flowers, graphite, and classy oak give way to a rich, medium to full-bodied red with classic Cabernet character, beautiful balance, ripe tannins, and a great finish."
