*97 points, Ultimate Spirits Challenge Top 100 of 2020* Winner of Single Malt Of The Year in the Japanese Whisky category from Jim Murray's 2020 Whisky Bible. A rarity in Japanese whisky is a bottle that actually says Distilled in Japan on the bottle, but this young whisky is just that. An actual Japanese whisky made at the distillery that is selling it under their label. It's fitting that the Japanese Single Malt winner would be aged in Mizunara oak, a distinctly Japanese wood that has taken the whisky world by storm. While young, it's richly flavorful and very reasonably priced given the recent accolades and rarity of whisky on the market actually made in the country.
