This Pinot offers a lot for this small price, offering a delicious expression of Central Otago's scenic, semi-arid wilderness of Bendigo. Nestled in the foothills of the Southern Alps, the Pinots here offer a powerful take on the island's energetic and complex style. Detailed aromas are tantalizingly fresh, reminiscent of forest undergrowth, crushed cherry and red plum, flowers, cola and a hint of light toast. It rides the line between savory and fruity, gliding lithely across the palate with a refreshing, vibrantly juicy mouthfeel. Not overly polished, but still refined, the lightly grippy tannins peek through, pulling everything to a dry, robust and lightly warming finish that calls for another sip. This will resonate with dishes like well-roasted cauliflower, grilled mushrooms, stuffed yellow peppers, cedar plank salmon or trout, roasted citrus-marinated pork (carnitas!) and roast duck.
Get the grill fired up and grab a few bottles before they vanish!
