When the ban on absinthe happened in 1915, La Muse Verte absinthe was adapted by the producer who removed the wormwood and added licorice. The rest of the plants used in the family's original recipe remained pretty identical, using star anise from China, anise seed from Turkey, fennel, lemon balm, sage, and hyssop. The alcohol is at 45% as per pastis regulations.
