Picked from Tom Kenefick's best lots of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is a barrel selection of his two best 3 clones (SEE and ). Three of the best barrels are selected, blended and then flashed in a small amount of new French Oak to add texture and length.

The Kenefick family sells most of the fruit to other wineries, but also makes a small amount of wine under their own label. I was quite impressed with the range I tasted. Quality seems to be on the rise, which is always great to see. Wines from Kenefick Ranch (whether made by the Keneficks or other producers) are quintessentially Calistoga in their power and muscle."

Smoke, incense, dried flowers and a host of dark red-toned stone fruits convey an impression of brooding intensity. This big, massively tannic wine is going to need time to fully come around, but it has much to offer."
