ANTONIO GALLONI 94 POINTS - "Founded in 1953, Hanzell is one of the historic properties in Sonoma Valley. Hanzell is also distinguished in that both Burgundian and Bordeaux varieties are planted here. Jason Jardine, previously at Rhys and Flowers, crafts, these classically leaning wines."

"The 2016 Chardonnay is a very pretty, understated wine from Hanzell. Lifted, gracious and quite subtle, it is super-expressive today. Readers should expect a finessed, translucent, incredibly distinctive Chardonnay laced with a range of floral, savory and mineral nuances."

ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 93+ POINTS - "The 2016 Chardonnay offers subdued notes of pear blossom, cheese rind, cremini mushroom, fresh apples, hay and clover honey with baker's yeast hints. The light to medium-bodied palate begins minerally before fleshing out to honeyed fruits lifted by juicy acidity and finishing long and nutty. This took a long time to come around after being open, so give it more time in bottle or a long decant. 2,839 cases produced."
