Elouan is produced by the Wagner family whose roots as farmers in the Napa Valley date back to the 1880's. Joseph Wagner, A 5th generation winemaker, leads the winemaking team on this project as well as all the Meiomi and Belle Glos wines. As a child, Joseph spent his spring and summer breaks in the Vineyard and Cellar at Caymus. He still works alongside his father Chuck at Caymus playing a role in the Viticulture and Winemaking.

Much like the successful California sourced Meiomi Pinot Noir, Joseph sought fruit from premier growing regions of Oregon each with their own attributes and blended them together with precision. This technique allows for a richly nuanced wine that shows beautiful character from each of the AVA's that comprise this bottling.

This 2015 Elouan Pinot Noir has greater depth and intensity than what is typical of Oregon Pinot Noir. Rich, ruby in color. Ripe cranberry, a touch of spice and fresh Bing cherry create an inviting bouquet with a subtle earthiness. The flavor profile shows red plum, bright cherry, minerality and dusty earth with a hint of sweet tobacco. The rustic layers of flavor are complemented by vanilla, spice and soft, refined tannins.

St. Innocent's Villages Cuvee is produced from Pinot Noir grapes grown in Oregon's northern Willamette Valley. Fruit from their estate vineyard - Zenith - and other sites are blended to create a Pinot noir that complements rich white meat and fish dishes. To enhance this match, winemaker Mark Vlossak blends to maximize both the spectrum of flavors and length on the palate while minimizing the use of new oak.

Heady aromas of sweet, ground spice, fresh berries and black cherries with hints of mint and moist earth. Dark red fruit flavors, loads of spice and white pepper burst onto your palate. This is followed by a richer dark berry compote, cigar box, and hints of Asian five spice. The overall impression is of impressive length and breadth as well as remarkable pungent flavors while embracing round tannins well into the finish. Drink now or over the next several years to watch it evolve
