The domaine was founded in 1954 following the marriage of Edmond Geantet and Bernadette Pansiot. Vincent Geantet now works in tandem with his son. The domaine based in Gevrey now has 13 hectares in villages, premier crus, and in Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin as well as its plots in Chambolle and Clos-de-Vougeot. It is a reliable and safe bet of the Côte de Nuits. Vincent's daughter, Émilie Geantet, is developing a parallel trading business.
What makes Gevrey En Champs special is its tempting nose with aromas of plums and red fruit (in particular wild strawberries). Extremely elegant and velvety on the palate with supple tannins and great length. A wine that can be thoroughly enjoyed with a good piece of red meat.
