The boys at Dragonette bonded over a bottle of Didier Dagueneau, and searched throughout Santa Barbara's Santa Ynez Valley to find vineyards that could best exemplify the enticing characteristics of this grape. They have found those vineyards, and now their Sauvignon Blancs have become some of our favorites! Happy Canyon, with its unique soils and climate - warm to hot summer days and cool to cold evenings - is ideal for promoting full phenolic ripeness while still retaining critical acidity.

This bottling represents an appellation blend of lots they feel express the characteristics of Happy Canyon; explosive, bright yellow and tropical fruits and melons balanced by fresh, clean and present acidity, but without the herbaceousness sometimes associated with the grape.

ANTONIO GALLONI 92 POINTS - "These wines from Dragonette move from strength to strength. I was blown away by what I tasted. Dragonette has long specialized on Sauvignon Blanc. The four bottlings are distinctive and alluring. "

"The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc (Happy Canyon) is a gorgeous wine that captures all the personality of Happy Canyon in its bright, floral character, all while showing quite a bit of depth and structure as well. This is the most taut of the Dragonette Sauvignon Blancs. Vineyard sites are Grimm's Bluff, Grassini, Vogelzang and Two Wolves."

JEB DUNNUCK 90 POINTS - "A classic, age-worthy Sauvignon well worth seeking out, the 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Happy Canyon from Dragonette offers up a light gold hue as well as a beautiful, Bordeaux Blanc-like array of lemon curd, crushed citrus, white flowers, and chalky minerality. Drink this balanced, elegant, juicy, and just pretty and lively Sauvignon over the coming 4-5 years."
