We are always on the prowl for wines that over deliver and offer delicious drinkability at an outstanding price. We found such a wine with Chateau du Grava from the highly acclaimed 2018 vintage in Bordeaux!

The 2018 Chateau du Grava is a delicious wine and a fantastic value-a pairing we love! We tasted this and loved the quality of the perfectly ripened fruit, which is really a hallmark of the great 2018 vintage in Bordeaux. This wine echoes some of the outstanding values we have featured recently such as Chateau Belle-Vue, Chateau Bourdieu and Chateau La Prade.

James Suckling gave this wine a score of 91 Points, saying, "It's round and juicy with ripe tannins and fruit and a long finish."

Located in the area of Entre-Deux-Mers, the Chateau enjoys a maritime influence due to its proximity to the famous Garonne and Dordogne rivers. This moderates the hot days enabling the wines of Château du Grava to maintain a freshness. The vineyard is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot which are planted in sandy clay soils.

The 2018 vintage is known for its hot and dry growing season yielding healthy, perfectly ripened fruit resulting in lush, juicy wines with an early drinkability.

This wine is dark ruby in color. Aromas of violets, blackberries, red and black currants, plum, cocoa, baking spice and earth greet the nose. On the palate, this wine is dry and full-bodied with fine grained tannins. The dark fruit flavors linger on the surprisingly long finish.

We did a little digging around and found this wine selling elsewhere for almost $20 per bottle.

This is a delicious, crowd-pleasing Bordeaux which totally over-delivers. We are thrilled to offer this amazing value for $9.95 per bottle.

Supplies are limited to stock on hand. When it's gone, it's gone!

JAMES SUCKLING 91 POINTS - "A bright, focused Bordeaux Superieur with currant and wet-earth character and hints of walnuts. It’s round and juicy with ripe tannins and fruit and a long finish. Shows structure. Drink or hold."

CHATEAU DU GRAVA 2018 BORDEAUX SUPERIOR

We were extremely disappointed in this wine, especially given the 91 point rating it supposedly has. It is extremely tannic to the point of almost being tart. Very little flavor for a Bordeaux. We have decided we now have a full case of cooking wine.
