Cambria's Chardonnay has been a constant favorite with consumers across the country. It is an enticing wine with great depth and range of flavors, remarkable balance, and savory finish. Sourced from the Katherine's Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, Cambria has carved out a reputation for producing lush, tropical Chardonnay for 20 years. Plus, we love the fact that Cambria is woman-owned and woman-led!
In the same AVA as some other famous single vineyards, such as Bien Nacido and Sierra Madre, Cambria is in a plot of land that is heavily influenced by the ocean, from the cooling winds to their marine sediment soils. In addition, Cambria is also SIP Certified (Sustainability in Practice), which means that everything they do in the vineyard and winery is done with the intention of having as little negative impact on the land as possible.
Respected critic Antonio Galloni writes this wine shows "terrific energy", and when tasting through the wines that "they are among the best I have ever tasted here." We took some time to run some numbers on some of Galloni's reviews, and the average price for a 94-point 2020 California Chardonnay is approximately $59.00. But this perennial favorite is currently in our store for a quaffable $15.99 per bottle...that's only a fraction of the average price for a 94-pointer!
Whether you're looking for your next favorite Chardonnay for your house, or in need of an impressive wine that doesn't break the bank for your next gathering, this Chardonnay should most definitely be on your list!
ANTONIO GALLONI 94 POINTS - "The 2020 Chardonnay Katherine's Vineyard is bright and wonderfully saline, with plenty of mineral and savory accents. Citrus peel, mint, white pepper, chalk and dried flowers open nicely with a bit of time. There's terrific energy and plenty of cut. Most of this fruit is sourced from the own-rooted vines first planted in 1971."
Great wine and well priced. All ways keep several bottles on hand.
