Bethel Heights Æolian Pinot Noir is sourced primarily from their second-generation vines planted in the 90’s in the most wind-affected sections of their vineyard. This is the epitome their new generation Pinot noir: powerful, youthful, focused, and energetic. This wine is named for Aeolus, the keeper of the winds in Greek mythology. He is the namesake for many places and phenomena in the world that are fundamentally defined by beneficial winds - including the Eola Hills of the central Willamette Valley where their vineyard is located.
ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 95 POINTS - "Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Pinot Noir AEolian has alluring scents of blood orange, tea leaves and earth with wild berries and Angostura-like accents. Silky and fresh, it flows across the palate with detailed floral flavors and finishes long and layered."
ANTONIO GALLONI'S VINOUS MEDIA 92 POINTS - "Glistening ruby. Lively, spice-accented aromas of primary red and blue fruits and candied flowers. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering gently sweet blueberry and cherry flavors that take on a smoky nuance with air. Shows fine detail and spicy cut on the persistent finish, which features fine-grained tannins and a hint of mocha. 30% new French oak."
