From Bergstrom's inception in 1999, their estates have been farmed without the use of herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, or systemic chemicals. They are Biodynamic Farmers. Their strict, no shortcut approach to grapegrowing helps build rich, fertile complex soils with better structure, water holding capacity, and vitality. This, in turn, helps to naturally keep the vines healthy, and in turn, promotes grapes of exceptional quality. The family farms vineyard in Willamette Valley's sub-AVAs of Dundee Hills, Chehalem Mountains, Ribbon Ridge, and Yamhill Carlton.

Named for the road where the Bergstrom family grew up in Portland, Oregon, the Cumberland Reserve is one of their hardest wines to make, as it involves 5 months of tasting the finest barrels in their cellar multiple times. Winemaker Josh Bergstrom then figures out, through blending trials, how these barrels can come together to best showcase the vintage, combined with the perfect marriage of spice, mineral, and fresh fruit flavors.

The Bergstrom family did such an amazing job with their 2018 vintage that not only did it received 94 points from both Wine Spectator, but it also made their "Top Wine" list of 2020! On top of that, it also received 94+ points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate! The 2019 vintage has just been released, and this is truly an amazing follow-up!

ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 94 POINTS - "A barrel blend, the 2019 Pinot Noir Cumberland Reserve has a medium ruby-purple color and opens with some flinty tones over cranberries, bitter citrus and amaro aromas. Grainy and fresh, the medium-bodied palate offers crunchy fruits and fine earthy accents, finishing long, uplifted and spicy."
