Barton 1792 Distillery was established in 1879 and continues today as the oldest fully-operating Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Situated in the heart of bourbon country on 196 acres, the Distillery boasts 29 barrel aging warehouses, 22 other buildings including an impressive still house, and the legendary Tom Moore Spring. Barton 1792 Distillery is named in honor of the year Kentucky joined the United States.
The nose on the 1792 FP is filled with brown spices, caramel, sassafras, cereal grain and cola nut. The palate starts with a sweet entry and a touch of heat but wow-- overall the flavor is lovely! The sweet notes in the palate really help to balance out the heft of proof: caramel popcorn, root beer, brown sugar, savory spices and oak. There's a bit of heat, again, on the finish but it's very manageable with the plethora of sweeter flavors that make this so endearing. We are big fans of 1792 and that continues with this amazing "Full Proof" Bourbon. Barton, Kentucky.
125 Proof; Limit 2 bottle per person.
