Matured for 20 years on the Celtic island of Islay in Bourbon Barrels, then decanted into Malmsey Medeira hogsheads to complete its journey. The perfect fusion of two Atlantic islands- Islay with her windswept, rocky coastline and Madeira's more tranquil, sub-tropical warmth. The result is a dark alluring, decadent malt. Intense rich, with rasins, black cherry, vanilla pod, burnt orange, and fruit cake flavours that linger seductively.

This eight year old Bruichladdich spent most of its life in an American Bourbon cask. Then with the help of ACEing (Additional Cask Enhancement), in a Mourvèdre cask from France's Rhone Valley, it has evolved into this refreshing whisky that is prefect to be enjoyed on hot Summer days with ice or sipped neat year round!

Rum, like the Whisky Industry, uses American Oak casks from Kentucky. American White Oak gives a more vanilla-rich set of flavors than the more complex European Oak. Here, Bruichladdich's elegant spirit has matured beside the Atlantic Ocean for 15 years in oak barrels that once contained Jim Beam Bourbon, and then matured for two more years in select individual casks from Guyana's legendary Uitvlugt and Enmore Distilleries. The result is a tropical island McCocktail of decadent proportions.

BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY 80PF SPECIALLY SELECTED CASKS OF AGED SCOTCH WHISKIES TO CREATE THIS EXCEPTIONAL BLEND. WHISKIES WITH A PROMINET PEAT FLAVOUR FROM THE ISLAND OF ISLAY ARE COMBINED WITH FINE GRAIN WHISKIES AND HIGHLAND MALT WHISKIES, INCLUDING UNIQUE EXPRESSIONS OF DALWHINNIE SINGLE MALT WHISKY RESERVED EXCLUSIVELY FROM JAMES BUCHANAS'S HOME DIST., TO BRING MELLOWNESS AND BALANCE TO THE BLEND.

Peppery at first, delivers this impression to the nose in an unusual way. Rich flowery speyside warmth opens up in time, and a whiff of smoke hovers above honey and bourbon-y vanilla. The various dimensions become more apparent with time spent in the glass, but in such soft delicate balance that it feels rude to pick it apart. Starts with a kiss of sherry and quickly scurries off into sweet and creamy grain whiskies for the middle. Ah, then some smokiness and those sherry flavours again, striking and tweaking like a chords on an organ, more gospel than pipe or cathedral. Toasted oak, dried fruits and tobacco flavours linger, whispering "again... again!"
