Nose Rhododendrons. Cereal-grain nuttiness but also sherry. Linseed oil on a cricket bat. Palate Fruit, raisins, fudge, cream. Finish Well balanced with a light oak dryness. Comment Slightly woody in aroma, but develops nicely.

Clynelish is Highland Malt wiht the character of the Islay. Slightly peated style with a whiff of sea air. Good malt flavors come through a spicy, oily texture. Finish is remarkably long.

The most rounded of this Clynelish threesome. The fuller gold colour suggests more contribution from the wood.
NoseExcellent complexity with diced carrots adding to the earthy, salady aroma. Some sweetness but drier than usual.
PalateFruity, grapey and beautifully mouthwatering: quite different from the nose. Brilliant sub-strata of peat runs throughout and adds a luscious sweetness to compliment the sultanas and spice.
FinishSmoky and dries rapidly to allow in a cocoa effect.

The nose is a little unrewarding but the palate has a delicate refreshing quality that lingers nicely.
NoseA light, fresh nose with touches of cereal, lemon, apple and a sandalwood-like spiciness.
PalateWhite chocolate and almond, banana, lemon. Decent mouthfeel with soft grain and balanced wood.
FinishSpicy/ ginger nut, biscuity.

NoseOily/waxy with peach, honey and some subtle smoky bacon/pancetta notes that grow in time.
PalateSweet start. As luscious as the nose suggests. Great texture, with the peppery smoke weaving seamlessly around the soft fruits and gingery spices.
FinishFull. Rounded.

A malt whisky inspired by travels to the forests of France. Type: Malt Scotch Whisky (Vatted Malt) Lead Distilleries: Made entirely of Highland single malt whiskies led by Teaninich and balanced with malts from other distilleries from the villages of Brora (for fruitiness) and Carron (for weight). All the whiskies are aged approximately 10 years-old. Wood: All the whiskies are aged for their primary maturation in a mix of American oak cask types. The marrying casks are a mix of first-fill Bourbon barrels and our proprietary "Oak Cross" casks made of American and new French oaks.. Tasting Notes: A soft palate, with flavour notes of clove and vanilla, accenting a sweet maltiness and subtle fruit character. It’s medium weight, with a long finish echoing hints of vanilla and clove. Bottling Details: Bottled at 43%. Not chill filtered. Natural colour. Guard filtered through a six-micron filter.

THE PEAT MONSTER VATTED MALT 92PF
Peat Monster is bottled at 46%. It is not chill filtered and contains no colour additives. The whisky is composed primarily of Caol Ila 10-11 years old and Ardmore 12-17 years old. The whisky is married for several months in ex-bourbon First Refill American oak casks. The marrying allows the intense smokiness of Caol Ila to be beautifully balanced by Ardmore’s milder, sweeter notes. Appearance: Light golden colour. Nose: Intense smoke. Taste: Full-bodied, smoky and slightly sweet. Some maltiness and fruit. Finish: Long, peaty and smoky finish.

Nose: Sherry, buttery, light smoke.
Palate: Soft and sweet.
Finish: Soft, develops with multiple sweet tones in a sweet palate. Turns more malt-y and dry later on.

An excellent impression from the very first nosing. Some malt hints with marshmallow notes. The palate is rather sweet with a certain complexity. A background taste of chocolate. The finish is too short, but remains very pleasant. Global conclusion is that this whisky is excellent. It's a shame there are not more single malt versions available from this distillery. The floral nose offers hints of malt and touches of pepper, the whole being rather discrete. In the palate, this whisky seems to be a bit "short", "faded", probably because of the alcohol rate, and still this floral presence, a touch of citrus fruit and some discrete spices. A too short finish, with some slightly woody notes.
