Aberfeldy Distillery, built by the Dewar family, opened in 1898 in the town of Aberfeldy, in Highland Perthshire - the very heart of Scotland. Aberfeldy Distillery was purposely built to produce the high quality Highland Single Malt, with its characteristic heather-honey note, that lies at the heart of Dewar’s balanced blends. Although reserved for decades exclusively for creating Dewar’s blends, this exceptional single malt, Aberfeldy, is now being released in limited quantities. Aberfeldy 12 Year Old is noted for its heather honey nose, full body and well rounded taste. The finish is dry and elegant with pronounced perfumed, spicy characteristics and a hint of orange peel. Experts define Aberfeldy 12 as having attributes of premium malts with longer age.

Cask: Bourbon and sherry. Colour: Deep gold with yellow highlights. Nose: A pleasing aroma of heathery honey, followed by a fruity softness, hints of vanilla and burnt wood. Palate: Full flavoured with touches of Seville oranges lingering on the tongue like a good liqueur. Finish: Long, spicy with a decidedly dry finish.

Only spirit which has been matured for 12 years in fresh new Oloroso Sherry Butts has been selected for this product. This results in a unique style of Aberlour where the Distillery character is complemented by the effect of highly active 'new' wood. Appearance Deep red amber colour where the influence of new sherry cask is at work. Taste Honey, Sweet Sherry, Christmas Cake Richness, Nutty and Oaky. Rich texture with a more heavy character. Nose Sherried and Buttery. Slightly Smoky. Ripe Apples. Finish Warming, Gingery, Becoming Dry.

Watch out! Aberlour is on the move with the introduction of their latest concoction: the 16-year-old double wood. This whisky was aged in American Oak and also sherry barrels. This is not your typical Aberlour; this whisky is very rich in color but the nose and body are incredibly delicate compared to the rest Aberlour's lineup. As we're big fans of Aberlour already, something new and different from them is always welcome . The nose has delicate malted barley and cane sugar. On the palate there are notes of cereal, brown maple sugar, some dates and just a hint of peat. The finish is delicate with sherry, peat and pine. If you like delicate whiskies check this one out.

A single malt comprising Aberlours from less than 10 to more than 15 years, vatted together. All sherry-ageing , with an emphasis on second-fill dry oloroso. No chill filteration.

Produced at the legendary Knockdhu distillery... anCnoc is a knock out of a single malt and goes for a delightful price. It leads with vibrant aromas of citrus fruit, sweet grass, casaba melon, toasty oak and delicate implications of vanilla. The flavors follow suit and evolve to include honey, nutty barley, clean spices and sumptuous treacle. The finish is spectacular with a lingering demonstration of soft lively spice and elegant grains that flawlessly set you up for another tasty sip. Try this neat or with a splash of water.

Nose Astoundingly smoky, yet delicate with subtle tarry notes behind. With water the smoke dies a little and raisin and caramelised apple notes emerge. Palate An immediate waft of peat smoke. Full, robustly flavoured with turf and lapsang souchong tea. Finish Salty, long and filled with fragrant peat reek. Comment A punch in the chops from a stroppy Islay middleweight. Flavour-packed yet delicate.

ARDBEG AIRIGH NAM BEIST D-1990 B-2006 16YR
There is a dark place on Islay, high above the Ardbeg Distillery, called Airigh Nam Beist (pronounced 'arry-nam-bayst') which in Gaelic means 'shelter of the beast'. No more fitting name could have been bestowed on such an eerie place; this is where - legend has it - something other-worldly lurks, lying in wait. So what measures can be taken to protect local and visitor alike? If you find yourself straying this way, then pray equip yourself with that traditionally reliable antidote to sheer terror - the stiff drink. A travelling man could ask for no better protection than a hip flask full of the strong stuff, namely Ardbeg's Airigh Nam Beist. For it's truly a wee beastie of a dram. It is made up entirely of stock from 1990 distillate and is a limited expression. Due to its greater age, it has a softer, more rounded flavor than the Ardbeg 10 year old . It shows a creamy, smoky flavor with hints of fennel and pine nuts. Aged in ex-bourbon oak barrels. 46% ABV and non chill-filtered.

Limited stocks of Arran Malt have been matured in special sherry casks. A unique combination of a Highland and Scottish Island malt. Aroma (Nose) :Delightfully light and fresh with a good nose of caramel, hazelnuts, pears and a hint of spices. Body : Complex. Palate : Orchard fruits are very apparent, followed by a honey sweetness with a touch of pepper. A more complex version of the Arran Single Malt with vanilla and honey mingled with spicy final note.

Nose: Slightly dusty, like an old attic, but shows good maturity. Pine, cake mix, Weetabix, allspice, clove. A polished oak quality. This improves in the glass. Palate: Sweet to start moving immediately into red fruit, blueberry juice then the malty nuttiness takes over. Good depth and and well balanced. Finish: Bran muffin. Comment: An underrated malt. Check it out.

Nose:Soft. Warm grass on a summer's day. Pastry. Custard tarts. Vanilla.
Palate:Sesame. Nutty. Oily.
