Rogue
Creamery,
originally
established
by the Vella
family in the
1930s, is
located near
the Rogue
River in
Oregon.
During WW II
the
government
subsidized
local farmers
for their
milk that
they sold to
Rogue
Creamery to
make cheese.
Noted for
their
award-winning
Blue Cheese,
they also
make a number
of flavored
cheeses
including
Chipotle,
Porter Beer
and a Raw
Milk Cheese.
Many infused
cheeses
overpower the
palate. This
Lavender
cheese has a
subtle hint
of flavor
that adds to
the rich
flavor of the
cheese. It
not only
makes for a
great wine
paring with
most hearty
reds and beer
but lends to
culinary uses
as well.
