Turns out that since 2007, they have been searching for a Zinfandel vineyard whereby they could produce a quintessentially “Paso” Zin. They struck it rich in 2010 with Cushman Vineyard and “Pound for Pound” was born! Styled like the wines that made Paso Robles famous, this gigantic, layered, mammoth of a wine is showstopper. The nose offers a whopping dose of cherry cola, cranberry sauce, black licorice and red plum, with notes of star anise, fennel and cola berry. The finish is packed with zingy red fruit and fresh herb notes. Weighty but with fine, soft tannins, the addition of Mourvedre and Syrah add density and length to the finish.
