Gold Selection Plan 1 $24.95
2 Bottles of red wine June Taster's Advantage Gold Selection 1 Coquille d’Oc 2010 Rouge, IGP Cotes de Thongue, France - The Coquille d’Oc red comes from the Domaine de Sainte Rose located in the Languedoc region of Southern France. The scallop shell is used as their logo because of its association with the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella and because they have found actual scallop shells in one of the vineyards. The shells date back to Roman times as there was a Roman settlement on the outskirts of what is now their local village. The Coquille D’Oc Rouge is a blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre. On the nose you find notes of spice, black tea, leather, meat, cherry vanilla fruit and sea salt. The palate is equally tempting, with lots of sweet, forward fruit that is balanced by good amounts of tannin and grip. Notes of both red and black plums, blackberry fruit, black pepper and mixed spices envelop the palate. The finish is lengthy and dry. This will be perfect with casual barbecued meats during summer. Item #333384. Tommasi Poggio al Tufo 2010 Rompicollo IGT Maremma Toscana, Italy - Poggio al Tufo is a new project in the Maremma area of Tuscany started by Tommasi Viticoltori (Tommasi Vintners), a highly regarded family-owned winery which has been in the Veneto since 1902. Realizing the tremendous potential to produce great wines in the Maremma region of Tuscany, the family purchased 163 acres of land there in 1997. The Poggio al Tufo estate is located in Pitigliano, a historical Etruscan city situated one hour north of Rome. The vineyards are about 1,000 feet above sea level and just 15 miles away from the Mediterranean. The soil is rich in tufo, a mineral-rich type of volcanic rock. The 2010 is composed of 60 % Sangiovese and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from a single vineyard site called Rompicollo. This rich, elegant, full bodied wine was fermented in stainless steel and matured in large Slovenian oak casks for 12 months. Rompicollo has an intense bouquet of ripe red cherries, coffee and plums notes, with beautiful structure and persistent length. This is an unbeatable Tuscan Red for the price. Serve with red meat and, of course, Italian pasta dishes. Item #301419. |

1 Bottle of red wine and 1 bottle of white wine June Taster's Advantage Gold Selection 2 Yalumba 2011 Vermentino the Y Series, South Australia - Yalumba, Australia's oldest family-owned winery, does a great job with this Italian grape variety. They sourced these grapes from two family-owned vineyards in the Riverland area of South Australia. This crisp, dry white displays a pale green straw color. On the nose you find aromas of jasmine, white nectarine and a hint of kumquat. There is a surprising amount of fruit in the mouth showcasing nectarine or white peach flavors with citrus on the dry finish. Like Yalumba's other Y series wines, this is a great value. Friendly enough to pour when you just want a glass of white wine on a hot afternoon, you can also serve this with appetizers, chicken, fish or seafood dishes. No egg whites or other animal products were used during wine making so this is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Limited availability. Item #362336. Platinum Selection Plan 1 $49.95
2 Bottles of red wine The Platinum Selection 1 features two bold reds which will surely satisfy any wine lover. We include top wines from prestigious wine growing regions. June Taster's Advantage Platinum Selection 1 Tommasi Poggio al Tufo 2010 Rompicollo IGT Maremma Toscana, Italy - Poggio al Tufo is a new project in the Maremma area of Tuscany started by Tommasi Viticoltori (Tommasi Vintners), a highly regarded family-owned winery which has been in the Veneto since 1902. Serve with red meat and, of course, Italian pasta dishes. Item #301419. Bonavita 2010 Faro, Sicily, Italy - One of Sicily’s wine jewels, besides Mount Etna, is its neighbor, the DOC Faro. This wine region is perched on the top of the Monte Peloritani ridge on Sicily’s extreme east, its vineyards literally overlooking the Strait of Messina. Vines have been grown in this part of Sicily since the time of the first Greek settlements. The climate here is cooler than one would expect and the grapes aren’t harvested until October. Giovanni Scarfone’s tiny Bonavita estate has been in his family for more than 100 years. Giovanni, after studying agriculture in Bologna, returned home and converted the vineyards to organic farming (his father and his grandfather never used any chemicals anyway). The yields he gets from the vines are very low; the wine is fermented with indigenous yeast in small stainless steel tanks and aged in used oak barrels. He uses no sulfur during vinification. The 2010 Faro is composed of 60% Nerello Mascalese, 30% Nerello Capuccio and 10% Nocera. Ruby colored, this wine displays a sweet, exotic nose of hay, red berry fruit and garden herbs. In the mouth flavors of crushed red fruits lead to the lively and dry long finish. Serve this with rich meat dishes. Item #302024. |

1 Bottle of red wine and 1 bottle of white wine June Taster's Advantage Platinum Selection 2 Gustave Lorentz 2012 Pinot Noir Le Rosé, Alsace, France - The Lorentz family has been making wine since 1836 in the heart of the Alsace, which lies in the northeast corner of France, along the Rhine River. The family now has 85 acres of vineyards on the hills of Altenberg de Bergheim, in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. Alsace has historically been fought over by France and Germany. At the end of Word War I Germany ceded the region to France under the Treaty of Versailles. This is the one wine growing area in France which makes Riesling, Gewurztraminer and other Germanic varietals. They also grow Pinot Noir although the climate is cooler here than in Bourgogne. This dry rosé of Pinot Noir is smooth and broad, full-bodied in texture and delicate in flavor. It offers light spice and fresh mushroom scents; in the mouth it has revealing flavors of cherries, raspberries and blackberries leading to a dry finish. Serve this chilled (like a white wine) with appetizers, mild fish or seafood dishes and vegetarian entrées. Item #321382. 1 Bottle of Champagne June Taster's Advantage Champagne Selection Deutz Brut Classic - The Wine Advocate gave this bubbly 90 points: "The NV Brut Classic is a very pretty, fresh wine with notes of flowers, pears, minerals and mint. Deutz has produced a lovely, focused Champagne loaded with class, personality and brilliance. The Brut Classic is approximately 38% Pinot Noir, 32% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, with the addition of 20-40% reserve wines. … Deutz has been owned by Roederer since 1992; this is the only property in the group that is run in an autonomous fashion, as the Rouzaud family didn’t want to risk losing the estate’s unique identity by consolidation of winemaking functions. The Deutz Champagnes undergo full malolactic fermentation and at their best offer a polished, creamy style that drinks well early but that can also age." Great with smoked salmon, paté and shellfish.
