WINE SPECTATOR 91 POINT 'SMART BUY' - "Fresh and expressive, medium-weight but vivid, Read More...
with black cherry and floral notes, balanced by a stony minerality that glides into the long finish against fine tannins. Drink now through 2020."

This fantastic Shiraz-Viognier from Terlato & Chapoutier hits all the right notes. Grown in the cool climate of Central Victoria, this wine has ripe fruit and excellent concentration without being jammy. In fact, what stands out most about this wine is its remarkable balance and finesse with everything perfectly in its place. This wine is a collaborative effort between two renowned wine families; the Chapoutier's from France's Rhone Valley and the Terlato family of Napa Valley. With that pedigree, one would expect this to be a delicious wine and it definitely is. Wine Spectator Magazine agreed, naming it #66 on its TOP 100 Wines list of 2015.

As is the tradition of the great wines from the Cote Rotie in the Northern Rhone, this wine is brightened with a boost of Viognier for aroma and balance. The grapes grown in this Australian vineyard were also planted on 19th century French rootstocks, which also speaks to the French influence in this new world wine. The expertise of those involved in this project is evident. This is a delicious wine, which is available at an incredible price. Enjoy!

Medium ruby in color. Nicely aromatic with notes of violets, red fruits and spice. On the palate, the wine is dry with fine acidity and is medium/full bodied. The tannins are ripe and well layered and the overall impression is one of impeccable balance. The fresh-picked red fruit flavors including cherry, currants and black raspberry are tantalizing and the wine culminates in a bright and lively finish.
