VERAISON 07 CS STAGECOACH

Brothers Jan and Bart Krupp were told they were crazy for planting a vineyard on hills with such rocky soil. But whenthey were done, the quality was so intense that wineries such as Caymus, Paul Hobbs, Pahlmeyer, Robert Biale, and Selene were buying their grapes, not to mention those who told them they were crazy, too!

This vintage was blended by winemaker Nigel Kinsman, a talented Aussie who has worked along-side some of the best in the industry, including Celia Welch and Aaron Pott! He pulled the Cabernet from some of Stagecoach's best south and southwest facing blocks on the south side of Pritchard Hill, 1,500 to 1,825 feet above sea level.

The resulting wine possesses a supple yet robust nose of exotic aromas of frankincense, espresso bean and tobacco leaf. Silky impressions of black currant, fresh rosemary, dark cocoa and an alluring mineral edge encompass the palate. This wine possesses immense concentration and power, while retaining sublime elegance.

WINE SPECTATOR 91 POINTS - "Reaching a nice drinking stage, with the currant, blueberry and wild berry flavors turning fleshy, offering hints of cedar, anise, tobacco, dried herb and loamy earth. Very complex and supple. Drink now through 2020."
