TURLEY 10 CS HOWELL
What?? A Cabernet from Turley? Yup, come and get it while you can! The story is that Larry Turley once told Robert Parker (Maybe 20 years ago), he would NEVER put the name Cabernet on one of his labels, even though some of the winery’s vineyards lie on Howell Mountain. About 5 years ago Larry acquired a vineyard that use to supply Frog’s Leap with Cabernet. His initial intention was to graft it over to Zinfandel, but after spending some money and time cleaning up the vineyard he realized it just might make some pretty solid wine. Yeah…and Picasso was a decent artist! So, we’re proud to offer Turley’s first venture into Cabernet called “The Label”, an homage to what was once said to Mr. Parker. This is a very dark, opaque-colored wine with a nose of black currant, black cherry and vanilla-laced oak. On the palate, the flavors turn from black to red fruits, such as raspberries, cherries, red currants. Hedonistic, juicy, fleshy and with fine-grained tannins, this is a great Cabernet for fans of Turley’s Zinfandels!
