Low yields are essential for concentrated, flavorful wines, but La Mancha’s recent history has mostly been about inexpensive, easy drinking wines. With these great raw materials in the vineyard, Importer Jorge Ordonez knew that La Mancha could do much better. WINERY NOTES- "This single vineyard-designated wine has plenty of red cherries, blueberries, mulberries and red raisins, depicting grapes pushed to full ripeness without going beyond the boundary into excessive over ripeness. The oak character is relatively elegant with toasty, coffee hints only, and the balanced wine shows some lingering length as well. Drink now or in the next five or so years."

The wine has a violet-purple color and equally impressive saturation of black plum, raspberry and fine spices on the palate. In fact the richness and texture are off the charts for $6.99. It also doesn't hurt that the new label is pretty mod and cool looking-much better than the funny yellow guy of past years.
