The copper casing of both the Brut and the Rose were inspired by the suit of armor worn by the knights of the palace. They are crafted from 100% second generation scrap copper and each bottle is recycled after consumption. So why the copper in the first place? Believe it or not, it’s not just bling it actually helps save energy and keeps the temperature of the wine stabilized while it’s being consumed without the use of an ice bucket.

are principally located in Dizy, Aÿ, surrounding Reims and Dormans.Paul Berthelot launched his own brand in 1977. In time, his two sons Jacques and Michel took over the running of the company, sharing the responsibilities of vineyard management and vinification. In 2007 Jacques’ son Arnaud, and his wife Valerie, began running the Domaine on their own. They farm 35 acres planted mainly to Pinot Noir, some Chardonnay and a bit of Pinot Meunier. The diversity of the vineyards allows them to blend beautifully balanced Champagne. The vineyards face directly south, the subsoil is largely chalk, yielding very elegant fruit and a distinct flavour particular to the town of Aÿ. The Berthelots manage the vineyards under ‘culture raisonnée’ – the absolute minimum of chemical treatments are done and are applied only when deemed absolutely necessary. Arnaud ploughs all the vineyards annually to avoid the use of chemicals.
