and 25 clonal selections. The nearby Pacific ocean creates a long temperate growing season for exceptional hang time, which combines with the calcareous, clay-rich soil to produce fruit with exceptional intensity and complex flavors.
Each block of Pinot Noir was hand-picked at night, hand-sorted, then de-stemmed into small open-top fermenters, where they cold-soaked for several days before the native yeasts took hold and started fermentation. The cap was punched down by hand periodically throughout the process. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 14 months in 40% new French oak barrels. The estate Pinot Noir always showcases a wide range of clones within the vineyard, with this vintage capturing nine of the ten Pinot Noir clones planted on the property. The core of this vintage’s blend is Clone 115, which does particularly well in California, and Archery Summit 828 brought down from their sister winery in Oregon several years ago.
The nose flaunts intense aromas of black cherry and dark berry with hints of tangerine zest and savory spice, accented by the singular Chamisal Spice note that is a hallmark of their vineyard. On the palate, dense black fruit, firm acidity and rounded tannins come together seamlessly in this well-balanced and concentrated wine.

This is a decidedly muscular, intense Burgundy with tons of density and power enshrouded by statuesque tannins. The sheer power and intensity suggest the Chapelle will require considerable patience. This big, dramatic wine is built for the cellar, but it is without question a showstopper, even today. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2045."
BURGHOUND 92-94 POINTS: "Like all of the Gevrey grands crus in the Jadot ranges, this is also exceptionally fresh and cool with obvious minerality to the red berry fruit, humus and forest floor aromas. There is superb intensity to the mineral-driven and beautifully well-delineated large-scaled flavors that possess an extremely firm, mouth coating and driving finish. There is a real sense of underlying tension with an overt austerity to the very serious and stunningly long finish. The En Gémeaux character of pungent minerality is about as front and center as I have ever seen it."

seamlessly into textured, powerful and impressively precise large-scaled flavors that brim with old vine sap. The presence of the stems is evident as the tannins are very firm yet the phenolic ripeness is excellent and this also culminates in an explosive finish of outstanding balance and length. a selection of the most elegant barrels in the cellar. It proffers a sensual perfume worthy Catherine Deneuve, a silky texture with subtle flavors of wild cherry and raspberry, outstanding concentration, and well-concealed tannins that will allow 4-6 years of graceful evolution. This lengthy, finesse-filled effort will be at its best from 2014 to 2023, but that is a conservative estimate."

The 2010 Cherry Pie Pinot Noir has arrived! Jayson Woodbridge of Hundred Acre is the mastermind behind this rich, hedonistic offering and, as usual, this release is not to be missed! Read More...
The nose is redolent of dark Bing cherries, hints of black and white pepper on meat roasting in a wood oven, memories of English plum pudding steaming at Christmas, a touch of saddle leather, warm spice and tobacco at a distance. The nose continues to build and unfold with hints of violets and Portobello mushrooms, blackberries, minerals and sweet earth. The flavors are very concentrated; after some time in the glass, they open up to show beautiful balance and sophistication and an elegant, glycerolic texture. Dark and intense fruit carries all through the palate; the finish then lingers uncovering a wisp of anise, blackberry honey and golden pastry roasting in the oven…Cherry Pie.
ROBERT PARKER'S THE WINE ADVOCATE 90 POINTS - "The appropriately named 2010 Cherry Pie offers up juicy red cherries, mint, cinnamon and cloves. Deep color; a classy nose, not overripe with herbal and mineral nuances. On the palate, it's all about dark chocolate and the silky texture. Super sweet, very, very intense flavors from start to finish. Quite massive, cherry fruit paste. Very refined, too, and very fine.
