which means “of the sea” in Latin - is focused on single vineyard wines from extreme coastal vineyards amidst San Luis Obispo County. In addition to these wines, each year Aaron Jackson also produce the Seafarer Pinot Noir as a special cuvee that brings together the elements from each of his vineyards. The goal is to create a wine that is more about overall texture and depth than individual site expression.

The 2012 Seafarer is 50% from Riven Rock Vineyard, 30% from Stromsoe Vineyard, and 20% from Spanish Springs Vineyard. All these vineyards are 6 miles or less from the chilly Pacific Ocean. The resulting wine features up front aromatics of cola, spice, bing cherry, and baked cranberry, while the palate sings on a fine beam of natural acidity that hits red fruits, minerals, cherry pit, tobacco, and warm cedar tones. Only 110 cases produced!

If you thought Revana was just a Napa Valley property, you were flat wrong! Less than a decade after he established his successful Napa Valley venture, Dr. Madaiah Revana set his sights Read More...
on Oregon’s Willamette Valley. He fell in love with Pinot Noir and wanted to make Pinot Noir that would rival those from Burgundy. His search lead him to winemaker Lynn Penner-Ash, one of the most talented winemakers in Oregon, and a person Wine Spectator believes has "...the perfect blend of science, artistry and passion."

Due to the transition of soil types from Volcanic to Sedimentary in the Revana Vineyard, the fruit tends to produce unique flavor profiles that stray slightly from what we have come to expect from the Dundee Hills. Pleasant earthiness is highlighted by aromas gushing with red fruit and cocoa nibs, culminating with a caress of sweet red plums. On the entrance, the Pinot Noir is delicate, and teases with red berry bramble, then explodes mid-palate with juicy intense fruit. The transition to the finish is refined, leaving beautiful flavors of red currants and terrior. The 2009 Revana Vineyard Pinot Noir was aged for nine months in 16% new French oak and is a blend of 113, 114, 115, 667, 777, Pommard and Wadenswil clones.

- "Tangy, focused and juicy, with blackberry, currant and subtle spice flavors, finishing with an open feel to the expressive finish. Shows impressive purity, clarity and length. Drink now through 2020. 1,600 cases made."

we had to see what else was in their bag of tricks. Happily, we found their Willamette Valley Pinot Noir to be delicous, too! Anne Amie's estate and all vineyards they get fruit from are Salmon Safe and LIVE certified, which means they are dedicated to restoring and maintaining healthy watersheds for minimal impact on aquifers and wildlife.

The 2009 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of Pommard and Dijon clones, and was aged for 10 months in both new and neutral Frech oak barrels. The wine is very fresh and crisp, reminding us of lovely Premier Cru reds from Burgundy. The aromas are of blackberry, black cherry, lavender, and a kis of tobacco. The flavors are bright and intriguing, with black cherry, boysenberry, cola nut, and a hint of anise. Paired along with food, this wine is a knockout!

in 1900, off the coast of Point Glyphadia. It’s significance for Antica Terra began as wordplay. While pronounced differently, Antikythera looks remarkably like Antica Terra. This similarity has become a way to understand the changing identity of their site. Since 2009, the site itself and the character of the wine it produces been dramatically transformed. There is an expression of place that winemaker Maggie Harrison could not imagine was possible before. Choosing the name Antikythera allowed her to link the wine to the history of the site while indicating that it was something completely different than what had come before.
