their Pinot Noirs and Syrahs typically garner most of the hype (because of their high scores), their Rosé has become a year-round staple in our store for its refreshing qualities! Typically, this wine is sold in a standard 750mL bottle, but this year, the Pisoni family has changed things up. Now, the wine is available in fun, single-serving 187mL bottles, with 4 bottles in each pack! Each 4-pack comes with its own bottle opener that has a pink ribbon on it, as a portion of the proceeds from each 4-pack that is sold is donated to breast cancer research.
The Lucy rosé is made utilizing the saignée process. After absorbing color from the Pinot Noir berries, a small amount of grapes juice is drained from the recently-filled fermentation tank. The juice is fermented in a both neutral oak barrels for texture, and stainless steel barrels for aromatics. This rosé undergoes no malo-lactic fermentation to maintain its acidity.
Displaying a light strawberry color, the 2011 Lucy sourced from all three vineyards offers striking and vibrant aromatics. Notes of Rainier cherry, perfectly ripe strawberry and watermelon come across in a very focused, delineated fashion. The palate is refreshing, and the crisp acidity causes a mouth-watering reaction, just requiring another sip. Serve chilled.
WINE SPECTATOR 90 POINTS - "Zesty and ripe, but balanced with solid acidity. Offers floral strawberry aromas and crisp raspberry, peach and spice notes. Drink now. 462 cases made."

The grapes were destemmed, but not crushed, to maintain the maximum number of whole berries. Prior to fermentation, the grapes were cold soaked for two days before the free-run juice was separated from the press to reduce the astringency. The lots for this wine were fermented in a combination of rotary and conesweep tanks at 78°F for a slower fermentation to enhance the natural aromas and flavors of this Pinot Noir.
The MacMurray Ranch 2010 Central Coast Pinot Noir opens up with delicate cherry and pomegranate flavors accented by hints of vanilla and toast. The mouthfeel is silky and rewarding. With time to breath, this wine opens to an alluring balance of flavor, texture and emotion.

The Bella Vigne vineyard was planted to former winemaker Helen Turley’s specifications and yields only 2-3 pounds of fruit, compared to the average vine that yields 20-30 pounds of fruit, creating more intense flavor, color, and uniformity. They are harvested only after current winemaker Brian Kvame tastes the fruit and is satisfied. The juice is fermented using indigenous yeasts and aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. The result is a dark burgundy/garnet-colored wine with aromas of almonds, cherries, spice and forest floor. This is not “old school” Pinot, as the rich flavors of black cherries and blueberries follow suit and lead to a long finish with supple tannins, gorgeous purity and a seamless texture.

We've enjoyed the Cabernets and Chardonnays from Merryvale for some time, but this Pinot Noir is a new one to us. Yes, we may have been a bit skeptical, but one we tasted it, we became believers! Read More...
This wine really does fire on all cylinders, and while this sells under $30 a bottle, we think it compares to others that reach that $40 price points! Merryvale carefully blended many different Pinot Noir clones in order to get good balance, freshness, richness, and flavors. Dark ruby red in color with some violet notes, this is a wine with good density and aromas of red cherry, cranberry, raspberry, baking spices, toasted hazelnut, and minerals. The palate is nuanced, with bright, focused fruit, good depth on the mid-palate, and is beautifully proportioned. Bravo!

of the wines from that vineyard, it has beautifully pure black raspberry and floral-infused black currant fruit with some sweet cherries, underbrush, and forest floor.
