means swallowing a hard pill. Case in point: 2010 Pinot Noir Anderson Valley. The fruit came from the Klindt Vineyard, a "deep-end" Anderson Valley source we historically designate on the label, and which commands a $50 bottle price. While this wine whispered 'Klindt', it boldly proclaimed 'Anderson Valley!', and as such we elected to simply call it that. The telltale signs of the Klindt Vineyard are there however--the red raspberries, the rose petals, and the damp forest floor."

While sampling dozens of fantastic Pinot Noirs, Syrahs and Chardonnays, this wine was a big standout! Brian Loring is well known for his luscious, forward and high-scoring Pinot Noirs from Monterey, Russian River Valley and Santa Barbara County. That being said, if this white is any indication, he will become known for Chardonnays, too! Sourced from the Rosella’s Vineyard, the wine was rich and loaded in the mouth with flavor but still had balance and vibrancy.

This bottling of Pinot Noir is comprised entirely of fruit from Pisoni Vineyards and Garys’ Vineyard. Being a blend, this wine combines great attributes of both vineyards, and at the same time is a wonderful representation of the Santa Lucia Highlands. During the blending process, specific barrels are chosen that are more approachable young, as opposed to the single-vineyard wines, which sometimes benefit from more age.
