PAYDIRT 10 RED PASO
Paydirt is a group effort between the guys at Barrel 27 and one of their close friends. They had been trying to get together on a project for some time, but couldn’t find just the right fruit for the unique blend they wanted to create. But in 2010, the proverbial stars aligned, and they hit “pay dirt”! The wine is comprised of 38% Grenache, 27% Zinfandel and 20% Syrah, with Mourvedre and Petit Sirah rounding out the blend. Aged in barrel for 18 months, this is everything we have come to expect from McPrice Myers and Barrel 27, showing cherry and strawberry from the Grenache dominating the aromas. The dark, black fruit of the Zinfandel, Syrah, Mourvedre and Petite Sirah play an obvious supporting role in this five-varietal heritage blend. This wine is complex; it erupts with endless blueberry, blackberry and anise. The tannins are well-managed and a perfect match for this ripe and generous Paso Robles red wine. Only 500 cases made!
