done by Hermann Mueller from the town of Thurgau (yes, coming up witha name is that easy!). As of 2006, it is the second most widely planted grape in Germany, yet is also planted in Austria, Italy, U.S.A., and Australia, among others. It is hard to think a grape this obscure would actually light a fire under us, but this wine offers so much flavor, texture, and sheer pleasure, that every single person who tried it with the vendor was amazed!
Anne Amie offers two renditions of their Muller Thurgau dessert wines, one called "Anne" and the other called "Amie". The Amie bottling was maderized and fortified to produce a Vin Doux Naturel styled dessert wine showing caramelized and nutty flavors that pair exceptionally with strong cheeses and candied almonds. We think this could be the perfect match with an apple pie!

liberating the free run juice, but not the color or tannins from the skins. It is then barrel-fermented, and aged on its lees in French oak barrels for 18 months. This structured white wine has a backbone of acidity, a voluptuous mid-palate and a long, creamy finish. Prismé is named after the word prism- the splitting of white light into its corresponding colors. Here, they are doing precisely that in reverse, making a rich, textured white wine from Pinot noir. With aromas of caramel, ripe fig, white flowers, honeysuckle, white pepper, and crème brulée, the flavors turn to ripe peach, shortbread, ginger, white raisin, nutmeg, lemon, and toasted marshmallow. The finish is long and rich.

we had to see what else was in their bag of tricks. Happily, we found their Willamette Valley Pinot Noir to be delicous, too! The 2009 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of Pommard and Dijon clones, and was aged for 10 months in both new and neutral Frech oak barrels. The wine is very fresh and crisp, reminding us of lovely Premier Cru reds from Burgundy. The aromas are of blackberry, black cherry, lavender, and a kis of tobacco. The flavors are bright and intriguing, with black cherry, boysenberry, cola nut, and a hint of anise. Paired along with food, this wine is a knockout!

So much, in fact, that Wine Spectator has stated that Archery Summit makes Oregon Pinot Noir that rivals Burgundy in quality! Burgundy color with a sparkling brilliance and great clarity. The wine opens with bright, clean flavors of black cherry and forest berries. The palate adds complexities of clove and nutmeg oak spice and hints of earthy tertiary flavors coming through. The long, elegant finish is complimented by Argyle's signature silky tannins. This is a wine that begs to be drunk now, but with self-control will pay the dividends of complexity and greater depth with aging.

reiterated to the palate in conjunction with hints of dark plum and spice. One could truly use the B-Word in conjunction with this wine as its palate profile bears no small resemblance to a well-done Cote de Beaune wine from, let’s say, Savigny or Chorey. Considering that many winemakers call their wines Burgundian without having the slightest idea what that really means, it’s a true compliment to winemaker Rollin Soles to have produced a wine so genuinely reminiscent of an Old World classic! Great bang-for-the-buck here!
