state famous for Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris also work for their sibling Pinot Blanc, giving Adelsheim wines that are racy, yet bold in character. By the 1970's in California, producers found that they had no true Pinot Blanc in the state, so David Adelsheim led a program to import two clones directly from Alsace to Oregon. Thus, David was in on the ground floor with this variety - 1989 was Adelsheim's first vintage.

Vivid green-apple and lemon flavors, this tangy mouthful mixes its high-acid lemony fruit with highlights of pineapple and grapefruit. Nicely delineated, but definitely for those who love acid.

have used sustainable farming practices and take great care to bring out the best in each of their unique vineyard sites. In the winery, they combine traditional and modern techniques, crafting wines in a style that centers on elegance, complexity and richness in flavor and texture.

The Elizabeth’s Reserve bottling is a “best of” blend, using only the best barrels in the cellar. With many wonderful lots representing different soil types, clones, site climates, fermenter sizes and barrel characteristics, winemaker Dave Paige pulls together a wine that truly reflects the vintage and character.

This wine is both elegant and intense, offering layered aromas of red raspberries, fresh Oregon strawberries, brown spice and cedar. Its aromas are reflected on a palate that speaks of purity and elegance, and is exceptionally balanced with silky tannins and a persistent finish.

done by Hermann Mueller from the town of Thurgau (yes, coming up witha name is that easy!). As of 2006, it is the second most widely planted grape in Germany, yet is also planted in Austria, Italy, U.S.A., and Australia, among others. It is hard to think a grape this obscure would actually light a fire under us, but this wine offers so much flavor, texture, and sheer pleasure, that every single person who tried it with the vendor was amazed!

Anne Amie offers two renditions of their Muller Thurgau dessert wines, one called "Anne" and the other called "Amie". The Amie bottling was maderized and fortified to produce a Vin Doux Naturel styled dessert wine showing caramelized and nutty flavors that pair exceptionally with strong cheeses and candied almonds. We think this could be the perfect match with an apple pie!

Burgundy color with a sparkling brilliance and great clarity. The wine opens with bright, clean flavors of black cherry and forest berries. The palate adds complexities of clove and nutmeg oak spice and hints of earthy tertiary flavors coming through. The long, elegant finish is complimented by Argyle's signature silky tannins. This is a wine that begs to be drunk now, but with self-control will pay the dividends of complexity and greater depth with aging.

reiterated to the palate in conjunction with hints of dark plum and spice. One could truly use the B-Word in conjunction with this wine as its palate profile bears no small resemblance to a well-done Cote de Beaune wine from, let’s say, Savigny or Chorey. Considering that many winemakers call their wines Burgundian without having the slightest idea what that really means, it’s a true compliment to winemaker Rollin Soles to have produced a wine so genuinely reminiscent of an Old World classic! Great bang-for-the-buck here!

their first Casteel Reserve Pinot Noir, blending select barrels from several different vineyard sites. It turned out to be a very exciting wine.

ROBERT PARKER'S THE WINE ADVOCATE 92 POINTS - "The 2008 Pinot Noir Casteel Reserve is a blend of the winery’s best barrels. The process of selection must have been quite a task given the raw materials. The expressive bouquet of sandalwood, Asian spices, underbrush, rose petal, incense, and assorted black fruits leaps from the glass. On the palate it displays dense, succulent fruit, outstanding volume, precision, and balance. Give it 5-6 years in the cellar and drink it through 2028."

ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 92 POINTS - "Combining fruit from several sweet spots on their property (and reflecting two Dijon clones and a bit of Wadenswil), the Bethel Heights 2010 Pinot Noir Casteel Reserve displays a delightfully juicy and flower-bedecked amalgam of red and black currant, elderberry and cherry, as well as a polished feel and saliva-inducing undertone of nut oils and salted, fatty roasting pan scrapings that send my salivary glands into palpitations.
