state famous for Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris also work for their sibling Pinot Blanc, giving Adelsheim wines that are racy, yet bold in character. By the 1970's in California, producers found that they had no true Pinot Blanc in the state, so David Adelsheim led a program to import two clones directly from Alsace to Oregon. Thus, David was in on the ground floor with this variety - 1989 was Adelsheim's first vintage.

Vivid green-apple and lemon flavors, this tangy mouthful mixes its high-acid lemony fruit with highlights of pineapple and grapefruit. Nicely delineated, but definitely for those who love acid.

this region from the dramatic weather variations experienced in other nearby growing areas. True to the appellation, Alexana's 80-acre property possesses an incredibly diverse and complex series of soils and exposures. Located between 360 and 640 feet above sea level, the site has eighteen soil types spread over a combination of rolling hills, steep slopes and some rugged terrain.

Stunning and bright, the Alexana 2012 Riesling is clean, crisp and austere - almost Alsatian-style Riesling. Abounding with green apple and loads of minerals, the texture is rich and expansive. on Oregon’s Willamette Valley. He fell in love with Pinot Noir and wanted to make Pinot Noir that would rival those from Burgundy. His search lead him to winemaker Lynn Penner-Ash, one of the most talented winemakers in Oregon, and a person Wine Spectator believes has "...the perfect blend of science, artistry and passion."

Due to the transition of soil types from Volcanic to Sedimentary in the Revana Vineyard, the fruit tends to produce unique flavor profiles that stray slightly from what we have come to expect from the Dundee Hills. Pleasant earthiness is highlighted by aromas gushing with red fruit and cocoa nibs, culminating with a caress of sweet red plums. On the entrance, the Pinot Noir is delicate, and teases with red berry bramble, then explodes mid-palate with juicy intense fruit. The transition to the finish is refined, leaving beautiful flavors of red currants and terrior.

the color or tannins from the skins. It is then barrel-fermented, and aged on its lees in French oak barrels for 18 months. This structured white wine has a backbone of acidity, a voluptuous mid-palate and along, creamy finish. Prismé is named after the word prism - the splitting of white light into its corresponding colors. Anne Amie is doing precisely that in reverse, making a rich, textured white wine from Pinot noir.

The Prismé starts with 100% Pinot noir free run juice that is settled and racked into barrels. It is entirely barrel-fermented in French oak puncheons; lees stirred, allowed partial malolactic fermentation (around 80%) and then aged on its lees for 18 months before bottling.

The aromas is this wine begin with baked apples, fennel, vanilla bean, elderflower, cardamom, candied ginger, crème brulée, then moves to flavors of ripe pears, graham cracker, nutmeg, lemon meringue, and ripe fig, with a lingering finished laced with creamy acidity.

October 18th, a full month behind our usual picking window! As a result, we see the strict interplay between vivid aromatics and steely, razor's edge minerality. Comice pear, faint pomelo, and fresh brioche seep calmly against the stern, edgy backbone. In order to tame that wild, late season acid and develop creamy texture, this Chardonnay was fermented entirely in our oldest neutral oak barrels and allowed to age on the lees. The tense, enlivening acidity and elegant mousse leave the salvaries coated with umami-like richness. I'm thinking Chelsea Gem oysters and a sandy beach." Julia Lee's Block, palanted in 1990, is a carefully selected higher elevation site of the Knudsen Vineyard. This block is planted with 100% Dijon clone Chardonnay.

mostly Pommard and Dijon 115, but with sprinklings of 114, 113, 777, and Wadensvil) from vines planted in 1998 and 1999. Yields were a bit more generous here than at Murto, but still well below their normal target levels. Quality was exceptional across the board with many of the lots that ultimately went into this wine vying for inclusion in their Estate Reserve.

Fruit flavors and aromas lean toward the dark end of the spectrum, with ripe blackberry and wild black cherry notes, complimented by complex overtones of coffee, fresh herbs, and flowers. The tannins are smooth, silky, and sappy with a seductive savoriness leading into a long, lingering finish. This is a contemplative wine that unwinds in the glass and reveals it's charms slowly. It is a pleasure to drink today and will only get better with a few years in the cellar.
