OR-G Liqueur starts with a base of clean, high quality French vodka that is blended / infused with persimmon, papaya, mango and lime juices; it is created by master spirit maker Jean Marc Daucourt, who has had previous success with X-Rated, Jean Marc XO Vodka and Bastille French Single Malt (basically that is to tell you he is good at his job). To be honest, I intended to dismiss this product because the marketing kitsch was a bit much for me—but I am glad I tasted it! The fresh fruit scents are marvelous – like real fruit, honestly extracted. This is an impressive product that miraculously conserves its complexity in outstanding balance from beginning to end without sacrificing the frail flavors of sapid–vibrant fruits that are not excessively sweet, but tart and tasty, with a long and ebullient finish. Aromas reveal persimmon, orange zest, tangerine, papaya, passion fruit, mango and lime juice—at the least; there is so much fruit there... The tastes lead with persimmon, papaya and mango that are more upfront with lime bringing a background of tartness to the mouthfeel that is exceptional. The finish is surprisingly dry with a lingering sapid tartness. This is incredible by itself and astonishing in a beverage-- the possibilities are endless!
