NIKLAS 2011 KERNER
Kerner being genetic crossing of Trollinger and Riesling makes for one of the most aromatic and delicious wines of what is easily argued to be the top white wine growing region in all of Italy, Sudtirol, Alto Adige. Dieter Solva's father backpacked the first cutting of this grape to this region over 40 years ago, thus making this the oldest and first vines of Kerner in the Alto Adige. This is a slightly richer and fuller wine while still maintaining a strikingly fresh vibrance. The wine shows both the Riesling as well a mineral drive more associated with that of Sauvignon. Wonderful with any white fish from delicate to rich as well a handful of cheese or pork pairings.
