Every so often, one of our wine distributors bring us a wine that throws us for aloop...this is one of those times! Mueller-Thurgau is a cross of two different varieties. This was Read More...
done by Hermann Mueller from the town of Thurgau (yes, coming up witha name is that easy!). As of 2006, it is the second most widely planted grape in Germany, yet is also planted in Austria, Italy, U.S.A., and Australia, among others. It is hard to think a grape this obscure would actually light a fire under us, but this wine offers so much flavor, texture, and sheer pleasure, that every single person who tried it with the vendor was amazed!

Anne Amie offers two renditions of their Muller Thurgau dessert wines, one called "Anne" and the other called "Amie". The Amie bottling was maderized and fortified to produce a Vin Doux Naturel styled dessert wine showing caramelized and nutty flavors that pair exceptionally with strong cheeses and candied almonds. We think this could be the perfect match with an apple pie!

Anne Amie offers two renditions of their Muller Thurgau dessert wines, one called "Anne" and the other called "Amie". The Anne bottling received a 7-month cool fermentaion, creating a Vin Glace dessert wine that highlights notes of honeysuckle, apricot and pineapple. This would pair exceptionally well with freshly sliced pears and pineapple upside down cake.

Heck, even one of our senior wine staff members said it was the best wine value he has tasted all year!

Stainless steel fermented at a low 45 degrees for freshness and maximumvarietal character, this is a vibrant, zippy, and mineral-laced wine with aromas of greenapples, kaffir limes, and white flowers, while the flavors show star fruit, lime, passionfruit, and granny smith apple. Clean, and with good acidity, this is an amazing value, and might possible become your new house white.

an attempt to create a varietal that would do well at very high altitude. Moser winery is owned and operated by the Moser family the patriarch of which is Francesco Moser. Francesco Moser is one of Europe’s most celebrated cyclists and a national Italian hero. He is perhaps most famous for setting the 1 hour distance record of 51km, 151m on January 23, 1984. This feat will stand as one of the most incredible accomplishments in the history cycling and the revolutionary bike design he used to achieve this record changed the course modern cycling design forever. The Francesco Moser Müller Thurgau 2011 is perhaps the best example of the wonderful results this grape can produce in the hands of a family with a century of experience in high altitude grape farming. Produced from 20 year old vines at an altitude of 650m above sea level, the wine is incredible on the nose with notes of elderflower, spring breeze, mountain air and lychee all engaging together with softer tones of yellow delicious apple and light cedar. A hint of spice as well ties the nose to the palate with a wash of fresh citrus, lime peel, and pear giving way to more savory mineral and wet stone. Focused and broad, these layers of flavor mingle over the mid-palate through the finish with balanced highlights of jasmine and lively acidity that bring this vivacious and vibrant wine to an incredible crescendo. Viva Moser!
