September 20th and October 1st with an ideal balance of sugar and acidity. With the Dijon clones supplying bright fruit and acidity, the small-berried Swan clone providing intense varietal flavors, and the Pommard clone contributing mid-palate weight and a warm spice tone, Two Creeks is a fruit-forward, yet complex pinot noir showcasing the best of Anderson Valley.

The 2013 Cakebread Cellars Two Creeks Pinot Noir boasts fragrant red and black cherry, red raspberry, strawberry and rose petal aromas. It has a smooth, mouth-coating texture, velvety tannins and delightfully silky red raspberry, cherry and strawberry flavors that take on a spicy tone in the long, juicy finish. Carpe Diem Chardonnay is produced in Northern California's Anderson Valley. Over the years, this region has gained the reputation of an ideal terroir to grow Chardonnay for still wines. Read More...
Grapes for the Carpe Diem Chardonnay are selected exclusively from the best vineyards in Northern California's cool Anderson Valley. This fog-shrouded region not far from Mendocino Coast and the Pacific Ocean provides ideal growing conditions for these delicate grapes. Vinified under the meticulous supervision of Roederer Estate's Winemaker Arnaud Weyrich, Carpe Diem's philosophy is to offer the most discriminating wine enthusiast the best of two worlds: the richness of California fruit combined with the elegance and the complexity of a wine made in the Burgundian tradition. The result is a Chardonnay ripe with aromas and very fruity, but with limited oak expressions. Acidity levels show off the Anderson Valley climate.

occurred in French oak barrels, and limited malolactic fermentation was permitted. The wine was aged sur lie in 60 gallon neutral French oak barrels for nine months. The use of no new oak and very little malolactic fermentation keeps the focus on the fruit in our vibrant 2012 Anderson Valley Chardonnay. Bright aromatics of lemon verbena and white grapefruit mingle with subtle notes of green apple and quince. Intense flavors of Meyer lemon, kumquat, and Asian pear are punctuated by the refreshing acidity that leaves a long, mouthwatering finish.

Jeff Stewart. One of the bright shining stars in California winedom, their Chardonnays are clearly Burgundian, but with sensational purity and ripeness. The Pinot Noirs are among the finest of Northern California, and Hartford Court’s Zinfandels rank alongside such top Zinfandel producers as Turley, Limerick Lane and Carlisle."

"From an estate vineyard in Anderson Valley, the 2012 Pinot Noir Velvet Sisters was made from Dijon clones 115, 667, 777 and the Pommard selection. This sees about 32% new oak. Abundant notes of blueberries, raspberries and red cherries jump from the glass of this elegant, attractive, medium-bodied effort that resembles a premier cru from the Côte de Beaune. Drink this cleanly made, fresh, impressive offering over the next 7-10 years."

Mendocino is universally recognized as the Mecca of organic grape growing in California and where residents voted in 2004 to become a GMO-free county. Read More...
The majority of the grapes for Heron's Merlot come from the rolling benchland east of the little town of Hopland. Cobbly, poor soil ensures the vines will struggle, resulting in more intense and flavorful fruit. Mendocino’s warm days and cool, chilly nights are excellent growing conditions for Bordeaux Varietals, including Merlot. Compared to adjacent Napa and Sonoma Counties, the temperatures are cooler, creating a longer growing season, a longer hang time and very concentrated berries.

Deep in color and rich on the palate, with lots of red cherry and dark plum flavors, framed by stylish oak. The tannins are moderately firm and nicely frame the forward fruit. The result is a balanced wine with finesse, intensity, and elegance.

wineries trying their hand with sparkling wines. That is one of reasons we are so fired up about this hand-crafted sparkler from Mary Elke. The other reason is that this beauty offers a depth and overall quality that is rare at this modest price. The hallmark of this bubbly is its compelling, purely rendered fruit (60% Chardonnay/40% Pinot Noir), most of which is drawn from the Elke family’s highly regarded Donnelly Creek Vineyard in Anderson Valley. Winemaker Matt Evans uses a hand-cranked basket press and other equipment and practices that would be familiar to winemakers from hundreds of years ago. Evans’ traditional wine- making techniques along with a minimal regime of yeast aging (just seven months) work in concert to bolster this Brut’s fruit profile. The result is a lip-smacking, California-styled bubbly that offers pristine pear, apple and guava flavors under-scored with beams of citrus and just a whisper of yeast. A novel call for Holiday parties when you want to impress for less.

Depending on the level of malic acid present, Samantha allows the wine to go through malolactic fermentation. The resulting wine is clean, pure, and very expressive.

each and every year, we think it’s a success! In our opinion, the Pinot Noirs have been the highlight of each year’s release, and with 2012 being a vintage of amazing quality, we don’t expect this to be around for long! The fruit comes from Twomey’s own Momument Tree Vineyard, as well as Ferrington Vineyard. Both vineyards have naturally low yields and are sustainably farmed! Aged in 50% new French oak for 12 months, this is a complex wine that combines the bright acidity of western Anderson Valley with the riper fruit characteristics of Boonville, showing a dark cherry-red color and a nose of rose petals, very ripe strawberries, cut hay and toffee. It has a juicy entry followed by a creamy texture and a hint of minerality on the finish. With proper cellaring, this wine will give drinking pleasure through 2023.
