This wine combines grapes from a great high-end producer with legendary vineyard sources in Oakville and Rutherford and grapes from Stagecoach Vineyard on Atlas Peak and the Palisades Vineyard in Calistoga. The result is a stunning wine that combines fruit from some of the best vineyards in Napa Valley to create an uber-cuvee that, for me, is the archtype of great Napa Valley Cabernet. While Lot 400 is certainly a candidate for your cellar, it will be a worthy accompaniment to your table now!

The 2009 Cherry Picker was crafted from classic wine regions like Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and the Central Coast, in order to take advantage of the different attributes and characters of those regions. The idea was to create a great tasting wine that I could take out for parties, a red wine that could be opened and enjoyed with pizza, hamburgers, a steak, or simply to knock out a few bottles with friends playing cards without having to analyze or think about what we were drinking.
The wine has balance, with a moderate use of oak, alcohol under 14%, loaded with juicy, ripe red cherry fruit, a round velvety mouthfeel and finishes with lush texture. Only 290 cases produced!
