MENHIR 2012 SALENTO BIANCO

Gaetano and Vito Angelo are two brothers from Italy’s “heel of the boot,” in Puglia. They started Cantine Menhir in 2000, and are making small-production wines using indigenous grapes. Their 2012 Salento Bianco is a blend of 50% Fiano Minutolo, and 50% white Malvasia. This is a mouth-watering white blend, with a nose of lemon, white flowers, lychee, nectarine and elderberry. The wine is crisp, dry, and dances on the tongue with notes of kaffir lime, passionfruit, and peach. This is a delicious wine that is drinking well now and would go fabulously with turkey and aperitifs.
