MARCO CARPINETI 2007 DITHYRAMBUS

According to legend, the Dithyrambus was a song sung by the ancient priestesses of Bacchus, or the Bacchantes, in celebration of the euphoria of drunkenness in Bacchanalia honoring the Roman god of wine. No less than poetic in its own right, Carpinieti's Dithyrambus is his rarest and most sought-after wine.

From 40% Nero Buono di Cori and 60% Montepuliciano, the wine is sourced completely from the Colle Paolino vineyard before spending 24 months in oak barrels of varying sizes. The resulting wine is a miracle of complexity and singularity--full-bodied, structured, and deep garnet red, its ethereal, spicy, and remarkably-structured palate finishes long and with incredible finesse. Absolutely nothing like it. Drink now watch it improve for another 10-15 years.
