L'HORTUS 10 LA BERGERIE
Le Loup Dans La Bergerie translates to the 'wolf in the sheepfold.' It would be akin to the fox in the henhouse. It is a paean, almost, to the dreams of childhood, of fairy tales, of wolves between the trees and princes playing leapfrog in the clouds. It is meant to be a wine to share with close family and friends, to enjoy with those close to you-- and suceeds very well. The nose is filled with bright fruit, notions of berries and cherries dancing in our heads, maybe scents of the rolled fruit leather we used to eat as a snack when young (or not so young!). The palate keeps the fruit intact as ripe red plum and mixed berries tango across the tongue, while the light garrique/underbrush notions in the background remind us of the prototypical forest filled with wolves, perhaps three bears and maybe a witch or two (don't eat the gingerbread house!). This is rich, ripe, simple, enjoyable wine-- perfect to share!
