KOGL 10 PG MEA CULPA SLOVENIA

Owner/winemaker Franci Cvetko takes responsibility for his wines by putting his thumbprint over the words Mea Culpa (my fault) on the label. He likes elegant whites with good fruit balanced by refreshing crispness.

Wine & Spirits Magazine 91 points: “...a pinot gris with clean flavors of the grape, this layers pears and whetstone scents with pale wheat. It’s lush and creamy while holding to freshness. Serve this cellar temperature with an oyster pan roast.” Or serve it chilled (but not ice cold) with appetizers, fish and poultry.

Kogl is located in the Podravje region of Slovenia, near Hungary and Croatia and not far from Austria. The Kogl farm lies on a gentle hill above Velika Nedelja, site of an important military victory in 1199. Grapes have been grown at this estate since at least 1542. Located between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, the Podravje region is a particularly good area for growing grapes.
