ROBERT PARKER 98 POINTS - "The all-time greatest wine I have ever tasted from Saint-Pierre, this estate, the smallest of the grand cru classes of St.-Julien, has an opaque purple color and a spectacular nose of subtle charcoal, creme de cassis, blackberry, and incense. Full-bodied, with striking intensity and flamboyantly rich, exuberant flavors bursting with extract, the St. Pierre has no hard edges, but rather massive, incredibly well-endowed blockbuster style, which should prove to be monumental. Give it 6-8 years to take on more definition and calm down, but this is a 30- to 40-year wine. Bravo!"

HAUT BAILLY 09 PESSAC LEOGNAN
ROBERT PARKER 98+ POINTS - "A dense ruby/purple-tinged color offers up notes of forest floor, subtle wood smoke, mulberries, black cherries, cassis and a hint of lead pencil shavings. There is even a floral component lurking in the intricate aromatic profile. Given its virtually perfect balance, this brilliant Haut-Bailly should age effortlessly for 3-4 decades. Yields were extremely low in 2009, and the final blend was an intriguing concoction of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.

ROBERT PARKER 98 POINTS - "Revealing incredible quality and performing better than it did from barrel, the 2009 appears to be the greatest Pichon Longueville Baron since the 1990 and 1989. An amazing opaque blue/purple color is followed by scents of spring flowers, graphite, smoky charcoal, incense, blackberries, blueberries and hints of coffee and chocolate. Incredibly intense, pure and flawlessly constructed with extravagant layers of fruit and richness, this offering has developed beautifully under the management of Christian Seeley. It is a voluptuous, opulent Pichon Longueville Baron that may eclipse anything they have made in the past. This brilliant wine should be at its peak between 2018 and 2045."

PAVIE DECESSE 09 ST EMILION
ROBERT PARKER 98 POINTS - "Bottled the week of January 16 (a week before I tasted it), the 2009 Pavie Decesse (from a tiny 9-acre vineyard on the limestone slopes above Pavie) is an uncommonly fat, succulent, rich, 1,000-case cuvee with 14.3% alcohol. It boasts an inky/blue/purple hue along with notes of incense, spring flowers, roasted espresso, chocolate, licorice, blackberries and blueberries.

ROBERT PARKER 98 POINTS - "Performing even better from bottle than it did from barrel, this appears to be the finest Lynch Bages since the 2000, 1990 and 1989. According to the chateau, the 2009 has the highest level of polyphenols ever measured as well as high alcohol (nearly 13.5%). This exquisite Lynch Bages should drink well for 30+ years."

allows us to accomplish two things that are very important to us as a winery. The first thing is that it allows us to use barrels from our vineyard designated sites that we think don’t represent what we think that site’s profile truly is. Sometimes that is based on vine age, clonal material or location within the site. This allows our vineyard designated wines to be true expressions of the site on a year-in and year-out basis. Secondly, it allows us to create a blended wine that has a degree of consistency to it each vintage that is of high-quality.

TORII MOR 2010 PINOT NOIR

Torii Mor (Torii meaning “ornate gates” and Mor meaning “earth”) has long been one of our favorite domestic Pinot Noir producers. With production slightly above 1,000 cases, they are able to keep superior quality control of the wine from vine to bottling

Theyhave a steadfast commitment to producing quality wines at reasonable prices and consumers seem to agree, aswe get calls for Rombauer wines virtually every hour! The fruit for this Cabernet Sauvignon comes from vineyardsin Stags Leap, Atlas Peak, Saint Helena and Calistoga; and Rombauer controls every aspect from the vineyard tothe bottle, ensuring optimum quality and fruit expression.

Balancing freshness and intensity, this full-bodied wineoffers a complexity of flavors. Bold aromas of black currant, blackberry and clove are supported by a core of blackcherry, mocha, vanilla and black olive flavors. Polished and focused, the wine finishes with a hint of spice and wellintegratedtannins. Drinking beautifully upon release, this wine will continue to develop over the next ten years.

ROMBAUER 2009 MERLOT CARNEROS
If Merlot has dropped out of favor, why the heck do we sell so much of this? It’s because you can’t stop a good-- make that great-- thing! Rombauer has earned an insatiable following for their reds and whites, but this new vintage of Merlot might be their best Merlot release ever! The grapes are pulled from several well-respected vineyards in Napa Valley’s Carneros region, including the famed Sangiacomo Vineyard! Aged for 18 months in a combination of French and American oak for that perfect balance of structure and opulence, this delicious Merlot is crafted from cool-climate grapes with a warm climate personality.The wine bursts with cherry, ripe plum and spice aromas. The soft tannins are deftly interwoven through a core of plum, with layers of dark berries shaded with hints of cocoa. The wine lingers on the palate with fruit and moderate tannins. It drinks well now, but it will improve with a few years in the cellar.

ROMBAUER 2011 CHARDONNAY
The Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay 2011 is golden yellow with a pale hue. Seductive aromas of peach, melon, and citrus are balanced with honeysuckle and vanilla. On the palate, flavors of pears, peaches and melons are backed with lively acidity. A nice touch of vanilla-scented oak provides an added flavor dimension. The creamy palate has a lingering finish of melon and citrus fruit with a satisfying buttery complexity. Our favorite pairing for this wine includes scallops in a cream sauce, pasta carbonara, chicken risotto and Cornish game hen.
